Okay. I’m not going to lie to you. Like most weeks of the Early Swirly, there’s not much here (IMHO) that I find even the least bit interesting this week, except for one game in particular: WAKFU! If you haven’t heard of the game, it’s a tactical MMORPG created by Ankama Games and published by Square Enix (in the US), and it’s a fun play. (And that’s saying a lot coming from me, as I quickly get bored with MMORPGs.) I stumbled on the game a few weeks ago, by accident, while they were still in the midst of their open beta testing and now the full product is coming out on the 29th this week. Sure, I still haven’t played Skyrim (hisssss–I know!), but I’m waiting for Wednesday when I can download the full version to my laptop. As for the rest of the misfits this week…well, you may as well take a gander at them.
Wakfu – PC, MAC
WAKFU is a vibrant, immersive world where player choices are paramount. The World of Twelve has fallen into chaos, and is in desperate need for heroes to bring hope to the masses. From there, they can defend their nation against enemy attacks, conquer new territories and even run for governor! Players will learn to harness Wakfu, the primordial energy of the universe, to help bring peace to the World of Twelve. A dynamic world with an evolving ecosystem, players can either protect or exploit natural resources, all of which have in-game consequences.
