Early Swirly – New Releases This Week: 12-20-2010
Great Scott! This week of new releases is led by Back to the Future: The Game. Outside of a few old titles hitting the Playstation Network, there isn’t much coming out the week of Christmas (and there usually never is). Some of the bigger releases hitting the PSN this week include: Fatal Fury, Metal Slug, Samurai Showdown and The King of Fighters ’94.
Back to the Future: The Game - Microsoft Windows (PC), Mac OS
Playstation 3 and iPad owners won’t have to wait long for Back to the Future to be in their hands. Unfortunately, Marty McFly will not be played by Michael J. Fox (we can all agree that the replacement is a damn good one) for obvious reasons, but Doc Brown will be voiced by Christopher Lloyd. Much like the Ghostbusters video game that was released last year, this game will be a whole new adventure that follows the events of the last movie.
“Six months after the events of the third film, the Deloran Time Machine mysteriously returns to Hill Valley – driverless! Marty must go back in time and get aid from a resistant teenage Emmett Brown, or else the space time continuum will forever be unraveled. Play as Marty in a cinematic adventure true to the films.”

NEOGEO Station (For PSN):
SNK fans will bask in the glory of the NGS, which will feature some must own games from the days of old. Fans of fighting games will be especially pleased with this batch kicking off the NEOGEO Station. Many of these games can already be found on the Wii already via the Virtual Console, but the select few who don’t own a Wii will be happy to have these downloaded to their console.
Fatal Fury - Playstation Network (PSN), Playstation Portable (PSP)
“The legend started here! This is the first SNK’s versus fighting game and also the first episode, memorable, of the FATAL FURY series. With charismatic characters and dramatic settings, with a content which has foreseen the NEOGEO versus fighting games’ boom that came after, this is a revolutionary episode which has created “Terry” and “Geese”, good and bad heroes.”
The King of Fighter ’94 - Playstation Network (PSN), Playstation Portable (PSP)
“Known as the “SNK characters’ versus dream” when it was released, the original and unforgettable first entry of the THE KING OF FIGHTERS series, which is loved by fans worldwide, comes to NEOGEO Station! Featuring a revolutionary 3-vs-3 team battle system, this very popular title drew a line between the other fighting games!”
Metal Slug - Playstation Network (PSN), Playstation Portable (PSP)
“The first installment of the METAL SLUG series, a monument of action shooting games, is available on NEOGEO Station! Take an advantage of powerful and varied attacks with simple commands based on shoot, jump and bomb buttons, save prisoners and increase your firepower with the items you find. The almighty tank “Metal Slug” is ready to go to war in order to stop General Morden’s ambitions!”
Samurai Shodown - Playstation Network (PSN), Playstation Portable (PSP)
“SAMURAI SHODOWN, precursor of weapon based versus fighting games, is proud to arrive on NEOGEO Station! This game was very popular all over the world with its fights between samurai, ninjas and foreign warriors, and its playability giving priority to kill your opponent in one hit. Featuring a “Rage gauge” which fills by receiving damage, and intense “close fights” by pushing buttons consecutively, SAMURAI SHODOWN is a timeless masterpiece.”
Note: Also found on the Playstation Network via the NEOGEO Station: Magician Lord, Alpha Mission II, Baseball Stars Professional, League Bowling, Super Sidekicks and Art of Fighting. For more information on the NEOGEO Station visit the Official Website.
